Homeschool showcase

We had a homeschool showcase scheduled for today with our local group. we were going to give certificates and talk about our achievements and obstacles we've overcome this year.   My two little boys woke up from nap time with fevers so we stayed home. Here are some photos of the two bigs receiving their grade promotion certificates,  at home.

nina and pinta

Thursday May 23rd 2013

we took a trip to Grafton Illinois with our homeschooling group (CHESI) .  I had the two littles with me today and while I did wear my 2 year old and then my 6 month old it was still a challenge (thanks to my dear friend who gave me a helping hand)

I couldn't take pictures so I handed the camera over to my 7 year old.

Si's second birthday

God blessed us with baby number 3 and its his 2nd birthday
my ginger boy,  full of energy,  giggles and laughter
fiery temper, lots of love.
Sweet hugs and kisses,  teddy bears, blankets,  dragons and swords.
This two year old is full of fun but needs his mama at every turn.  Late night nursing, tears, potty learning, playgrounds and scraped knees.  Running jumping climbing crawling never slowing down. and I decided to get him a bike, like he needed something to help him go faster.....................

First Bike,  thankfully its a little too BIG for him, whew xoxox

Riding with papa, this is amazing!

Sum it up saturday

i'm joining jenny on peasandcarrots with Sum it up Saturday - a recap of our homeschooling week -

I skipped last week as we had been sick the previous week and didn't do much of anything but lay around the house.

This week we played catch up,  it seems like we are doing that A lot right now, there's always something going on.
we caught up on piano lessons,  did a year end math review and worked on another week of MFW

after a long debate and purchasing next years curriculum, We've made the decision to take two years to complete countries and cultures.  I'm ok with us taking our time with each week instead of feeling rushed to get the lessons in and its taken a huge stress off, so we spent another week on south america.
we are still reading Nate saint, our planner calls for a chapter a day, we are reading several chapters a week instead. ( our rabbit has been joining us for reading sessions)  we are all enjoying this book about a mission pilot,  had a discussion about the dangers of flying in the amazon rain forest. we decided to make paper airplanes again and then flew them outside.

We took a few field trips to several different parks and enjoyed the weather since it was super nice out.
